Indian Startup Divide by Zero Wants to Become a Global Name in 3D Printing

June 16, 2016

Additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. Virtual design is made in a CAD (Computer Aided Design) Software using a 3D modeling program (for the creation of a totally new object) or with the use of a 3D scanner (to copy an existing object). These files are then transformed into machine codes, then uploaded into printer for making 3D objects.

India based 3D printing startup, Divide by Zero wants to take this contemporary technology to SMEs across the country.

What is Divide by Zero?

Divide by Zero is a 3D printer manufacturing firm, founded by Swapnil Sansare & Neeti Sansare in 2013. The Mumbai based company holds a vision to become world leaders in 3D Printing industry by 2022.

It is one of those companies which is trying to take 3D printing technology to SME sector in India, by making machines which are professional, affordable and adhere to international quality standards. The startup has already launched a range of Industrial 3D printers which cater to various businesses, giving opportunities to engineers, designers, architects, educators, medical researchers and innovators to realise and visualise their ideas.

Present Status & Market Scope

The company is bootstrapped at present, and is having its clientele is spread across the country "We work in a close loop with professionals and customers from various fields to improvise upon existing technology and providing the additional benefits of advance 3D printing technology to our existing and potential clients" says Neeti.

Additive printing has revolutionised the ordinary way of manufacturing, According to a study by 6Wresearch- "India 3D Printer Market (2015-2021)" 3D Printer Market is projected to record $79 Million by 2021. Few reasons behind the slow growth till now could be low awareness about the technology and high capital investment in equipment manufacturing. However this is changing now, beyond companies which provide 3D printing as a service, new startups are coming up which are manufacturing 3D printers for the masses. Will they be able to make it big in the country is yet to be seen.
