India Laptop market shipments volume reached 0.92 Million units in CY Q4 2013, representing a decline of 53% over the 1.96 Million units of previous quarter. HEWLETT PACKARD emerged as the market leader followed by LENOVO and DELL. In CY Q4 2013, DELL registered an overwhelming increase in terms of unit shipments to emerge as the third largest player. Together the top three player’s captured around 62% of the total market share.

In terms of Unit Shipments, the India Laptop market witnessed a substantial growth in the third quarter as a result of the festival season. However, fourth quarter observed slow growth which resulted in a decline in the total unit shipments.

The India Laptop market has witnessed a significant decrease in the prices of Laptops and thus the consumers are switching from Intel i3 to i5 processors. This factor resulted into an increase in the market share of Intel i5 processors. Additionally, companies are trying to provide innovative products with new technology which is according to the customer needs and expected price range.

Besides the corporate segment, Laptops are also in huge demand in the educational segment. Further, the government initiatives to provide free Laptops to the university students will also boost the growth of the India Laptop market over the coming quarters.
