India Data Card Market shipments volume reached 1.70 million units in CY Q4 2013; representing a decline of 13% than the previous quarter. HUAWEI emerged as the market leader.

India Data Card Market reported a Total Unit Shipment of 1.70 million units in CY Q4 2013; representing a decrease of 13% as compared to the previous quarter. HUAWEI emerged as the market leader followed by ZTE and MICROMAX. Out of the total units shipped, GSM based data cards represents 74% of the total market share. Further, the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) represents more than 73% and High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) featured data cards amounted to around 79% of the total market share.

Key Highlights (CY Q4 2013)

1. More than 19 vendors shipped Data Cards.
2. Top three players together constitute 80% of the total market share.
3. Out of total Data Cards shipped, 62% have 7.2 Mbps speed as well as 23% belong to EDGE Class 10 series.

In terms of unit shipments, HUAWEI exhibited an increase of around 3% which enthroned it as the new market leader in CY Q4 2013. Whereas, MICROMAX also witnessed a mercurial rise of 76% in its shipments. Further, data cards supporting 4G networks witnessed an increase of 49% as opposed to the previous quarter. Qualcomm Chipset installed data cards still dominate the India Data Card Market during CY Q4 2013.
