Objective

The objective was to find out how professional displays are used in different segments, such as corporate, education, retail, hospitality, transportation, home and other environments. To support product development and market-positioning decisions, the research assessed multiple aspects, which include deployment size, display applications, connectivity preferences, operating patterns, orientation, technology awareness, satisfaction, and sector-specific requirements.

Business Challenge

Professional displays were deployed across highly diverse environments, each with different usage requirements and technology expectations. The challenge was to identify how display requirements differed by industry and application, understand the factors affecting user satisfaction and identify opportunities for product enhancement, feature education, customized solutions and differentiated market positioning.

How We Did It

A 1,000-respondent survey was conducted using random stratified sampling by end-use application. The respondents were drawn from in-house and distributor databases. Surveys were administered using CAPI and CATI/telephonic interviews. Kobo Toolbox was used for survey collection and administration. Quantitative analysis was performed using SPSS and Excel. 6WSurveyIQ was used for survey workflow and respondent management, SQL was used for respondent and response storage, Python was used for statistical segmentation, satisfaction analysis and usage-pattern analysis, and Power BI was used for interactive visualization and sector-level dashboards.

Key Findings

• 48.6% of organizations had 2–10 displays.• 30.1% had one display and 21.3% had more than ten.• Meeting/conference rooms represented the largest usage environment at 39.5%.• Connectivity, operating hours and application requirements varied significantly by sector.• Professional displays were used for meetings, presentations, communication, advertising and information dissemination.• Awareness of advanced display technologies remained limited.• Satisfaction levels differed across industries and application environments.

Findings

The study identified substantial differences between professional-display users by industry and application. Meeting, presentation, collaboration and communication requirements drove major utilisation, while product selection is accelerated through connectivity, deployment scale and functioning environment. The research also presented a communication opportunity around advanced features such as anti-glare technology, where lack of knowledge could restrict perceived product value.

Business Impact

48.6% of the firms had 2 to 10 displays, 30.1% had one display, and 21.3% had more than ten displays, giving a solid foundation to segment customers by their deployment volume and design differentiated solutions. Meetings/conferences occupied 39.5% of the primary use, helping with better product positioning, bundling solutions and cross-selling. Conjoint analysis helped with configuring products, prioritising features, designing differentiated solutions and launching new products/variants.
