New Delhi, India – 6Wresearch, a leading market research and consulting firm, conducted an exhaustive impact study to measure the effectiveness of a major blood donation campaign conducted in various cities.
The study aimed to identify changes in people's awareness, perceptions, motivation, and willingness to donate blood following the campaign. In contrast to studies which focus only on visibility, this research was meant to measure the real changes that take place in people’s perceptions and behaviour, giving insight into future campaigns.
To provide unbiased findings and accurate analysis, 6Wresearch used a two-step research methodology that involved 1,500 face-to-face interviews before the campaign and 1,500 after, conducted through Random Stratified Sampling across the target cities. Fresh respondents were recruited during the post-campaign phase while maintaining the same geographic coverage, enabling an accurate comparison of campaign impact.
Some of the important areas where improvements were noted included increased awareness of donors' eligibility, higher intention to donate, lower levels of fear and misconceptions, good campaign recall, and increased sponsor visibility. The findings helped in knowing how effective the campaign was and provided an insight into areas where more could be done for future communications.
On the basis of findings from the research, 6Wresearch made some recommendations, including educating donors, advocating among the community, emotionally appealing campaign materials, and continuous engagement programs.
With expertise in impact assessment, public opinion research, behavioural analytics, healthcare research, and social sector consulting, 6Wresearch continues to help government organisations, NGOs, healthcare institutions, and private organizations measure campaign effectiveness and transform research findings into actionable approaches.
